SPECIAL NOTE:

Fox News the Musical is a full-length satire that follows Hope Roosevelt, a young idealistic liberal who finds herself working at Fox News.

As Hope unwittingly climbs the corporate ladder, she has to balance chasing her dream of being an influential journalist, conquering corporate media bias, fending off the threatening patriarchy, and sorting out a new unlikely romance with a conservative fellow intern.
After uncovering a larger conspiracy, Hope works against all odds to save America from the machine that is corporate news.
Our show lovingly lampoons the right-wing media world while digging deeper to explore what it means to be bi-partisan in an increasingly polarized country. We hope you’ll join us for this adventure.

Roles:

[HOPE ROOSEVELT]
(Early 20’s) — A young woman of color from Iowa who just got an internship at Fox News. Our protagonist. Bright eyed, idealist, patriotic, and a Democrat. Out to make a difference in the world one news story at a time.

[WILL MADISON]
(Early 20’s) — A young conservative from Texas who just got an internship at Fox News. Our love interest to Hope. A mix of Elder Price from The Book of Mormon and Luke Skywalker (only Episode IV though). Loyal to Fox News but then gets woke.

[REGYN SHELLY]
(30’s) — The number one female news anchor at Fox News. Mysterious and intense, but able to put on the typical Fox News anchor facade. A lady-boss with a past we’ll uncover. Very similar to a real-life, famous former Fox News anchor.

[GLEN O’RANITY]
Late 30’s – Early 40’s) — The number one cable news anchor in the country. Glen spins news for conservatives like the very fate of the free world hinges on it. He will stop at nothing to protect Fox News, The Top Floor, and the conservative agenda. He sees himself as a rockstar of cable news.

[LANDERSON HOOPER]
(Late 30’s – Early 40’s) — A news anchor from a different network who mysteriously crosses political and media boundaries to help Hope uncover a conspiracy.

[THE MAN]
(40s – 100) — A mysterious and powerful figure who owns and runs Fox News. The Wizard from The Wizard of Oz meets Saruman. He resides on The Top Floor of Fox News with a group of corrupt, elite individuals called The Men On The Top Floor.

[INTERN 1]
(20’s. Any ethnicity/gender). A seasoned intern. Intern 1 has been at Fox the longest of all the interns deals with his/her misery through dry sarcasm. A real Stanley-Tucci-from- Devil-Wears-Prada vibe. Leader of the interns. Will double as one of The Men On The Top Floor*.

[INTERN 2]
(20’s. Any ethnicity/gender). A seasoned intern. This intern has a Kimmy Schmidt, or Kenneth-from-30-Rock type quality to him/her. The most clueless of all the interns. Will double as one of The Men On The Top Floor*.

[INTERN 3]
(20’s. Any ethnicity/gender). A seasoned intern. This intern is the most sympathetic to Hope, and is very impressionable. Will double as one of The Men On The Top Floor*.

[INTERN 4]
(20’s. Any ethnicity/gender). A seasoned intern. Intern 4 tries hard to come off as loyal and hardened but shows signs of doubt in Fox News. Will double as one of The Men On The Top Floor*
